Medicine

The Faculty of Medicine teaches the 3 cycles of medical studies: from PASS (integrated into the faculty) to the 3rd cycle including DES, DESC, DU and DIU. The lessons are given mainly on two sites: Pitié-Salpêtrière and Saint-Antoine. The faculty also provides paramedical education: speech therapy, psychomotricity and orthoptics. The Saint-Antoine site includes a midwifery school.

Earth, Environmental & Climate Sciences

A long tradition of studying natural objects and environments

Through an in-depth understanding of the phenomena at play governing the ecological functioning of the biosphere, a detailed knowledge of the history of the Earth and its crises, and the development of new operational strategies, our aim is to provide adequate responses to global changes and related risks, to preserve biodiversity and secure soil and water resources, and to optimise the supply of raw materials and energy with a view to ensuring sustainable development and a circular economy.

The subjects covered by our research teams range from the study of cities and anthropised systems and environments to the exploration of distant planets, with the goal of elucidating relationships governing the interactions between living beings and their environment in different ecosystems.

Our domains of expertise also include climate modelling and understanding the functioning of the Earth's inner (crust, mantle, core) and outer (oceans, atmosphere) envelopes. Our marine stations and observatories, located in Banyuls, Villefranche-sur-Mer and Roscoff, contribute to our unique position and important role in the study of the physical and ecological functioning of ocean and marine environments.

This recognised expertise in terms of observation, experimentation and the modelling of natural environments enables us to tackle the major challenges facing our societies and to adap to a rapidly-changing world.
